Many insects, other arthropods and certain rodents can impair the health and quality of life of people living in and visiting Texas. To create effective and safe control programs for these pests, it is important to understand their biology and their roles in causing and transmitting diseases.
In this ONE-DAY event, public health officials, code enforcement officers and other personnel who work in and around public places will learn about some of the most common pest problems institutions and food processing places encounter. This training will blend lectures and hands-on demonstrations including time to look at these insect pests under a microscope.
Participants will receive 6 hours of educational instruction and CEU credit for TX Register Sanitarians, Code Enforcement Officers, Animal Control Officers, and Public Health (Vector) Category license holders. A correct license number MUST be provided to receive CEU credit. Lunch will be served.
